Villa Paula Boracay Beach Resort
Villa Paula Boracay Beach Resort is a small 6 room hotel just off the beach offering comfortable no frills accommodations in a solid location at a reasonable price. It is centrally located near Nigi Nigi Nu Nu (one) and Charlhs bar in Station 2 . Most of the rooms are painted yellow and decorated playfully with sea shells, bamboo and other local brik a brac. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and the staff is extremely friendly. The bathrooms are a bit small and without any form of barrier between the shower and the toilet. While this is quite common for rooms in this price range in this part of the world, it may take a bit of getting used to for some tourists. We were able to take hot showers from the bagwan style electric heater, which is more than we could say about some of the hotels we visited in higher price brackets. Our room was surprisingly large and well laid out, with tables and shelves carved out of drift wood. We found plenty of outlets to charge our gear (of the 2 prong variety), and the minibar was stocked with some reasonably priced drinks.
Villa Paula does not have internet access anywhere on the premise, but we found decent smart and globe signals and logged on through the cell phones.
Villa Paula is a basic budget hotel without a café, concierge or other amenities or activities. The rooms are comfortable and surprisingly attractive for this class of accommodation. The central Boat Station 2 location makes it easy to get out and around to find activities and food. While Villa Paula is located as close to the beach as possible without being on the beach, it has no beachfront property of its own. Guests will have to fend for themselves when it comes to lawn chairs and towels and should not expect to have this provided by Villa Paula.
